Day 10 of the revolt in Greece
Today Monday, December 15, 10th day for the revolt in Greece after the assassination of the young Alexis Grigoropoulos, at noon and four hours, thousands of young schoolchildren 14-16 years old surrounded the Central Police Headquarters in Athens, in Alexandras Avenue. There was massive presence of the riot police in full battle dress and Police gig vehicles ready to take possibly the arrested. The young boys and girls were not intimidated. They shouted non-stop militant slogans against the police and the government of the murderers, and from time to time they throw against the riot police, when the policemen started to move threateningly, eggs, yoghourts and other objects. About 15.00 pm the riot police attacked the kids with chemical gazes and globs. The clashes continue another hour before the end of the action.
At the same time marches took place nearly in all popular neighborhoods of the Greek capital. The most important clashes were between schoolchildren and police in front of the Central Prisons in Korydallos.
Early evening a 5.000 strong march organized by the Independent Action Center of the occupied Law Faculty of the University of Athens took place for three hours in the center of the city.
Tomorrow evening a demonstration of the inhabitants of the Exarchia neighborhood, where Alexis was killed, will take place marching towards the local police station whose policemen are responsible for the killing.
These are some the activities in Athens; but similar actions take place all over the country.
Apart the daily demonstrations, next Thursday will be a strike in the public sector called by the ADEDY (Federation of the Public Employees) and a join march of youth and workers fighting both the new anti-working class budget of the government of kid murderers as well as the murderous State repression.
Don't forget that the government through the bourgeois mass media tries unstoppably to mobilize "public opinion" against the "hooligans". It is not alone: the best spokesmen for the government and for law and order are the far right party LAOS and the Stalinist "Communist" Party of Greece-KKE. These pressures are focusing mainly on the reformist SYRIZA but also on the anti-capitalist Left. We will never surrender to these pressures! We will win!
